Hermione / Draco Fan Fiction Underway

It's almost a year since I first opened this account. During that time I have sporadically been outlining my first fan fiction story involving Hermione and Draco. They're not my favorite pairing but for some reason this story line won't leave me alone. My goal it to actually finish it this story this year!

It's been a while since I've read much fan fiction - work ruled my life this fall. The holidays gave me a little free time to scope out some of the new stories. My latest favorites are A Victorious Draw by Dari_67 and Between the Sand and Stone by SSHG316.

Received a Cool-er eBook reader as an early birthday gift from my mom. It's kind of fun. I can print off my fan fiction in pdfs and read them without being tied into the computer. It's quite nice!

The Life Unlived

I have just cried my way through a fan fic. The Life Unlived, author yet to be revealed, was released in the Winter 2008 SSHG fic exchange. It is my first memory here on my LiveJournal. It was so amazing and poingent that I know I will want to read it again.

Happy New Year

 Welcome 2009!

Where does the time go? A little while ago I finished boxing up most of the Christmas decorations and actually got them out to the garage. There is something appealing about the minimalist feel to the house now that the Christmas finery has been retired.

I don't usually make resolutions at the start of a new year. This year is different. I was introduced to the Harry Potter series in January of 2007. I spent the entire year of 2007 reading the books with my daughter. At the end of each book we rewarded ourselves by watching the movie. We finished up Deathy Hallows in September 2007 and since then I have been going through withdrawal. Since then I have discovered fan fiction. I'm not even sure how it happened, but I stumbled across some truly talented authors. Some authors, like G. Norman Lippert have carried on the Harry Potter canon in beautifully creative stories. Others have let their imaginations run wild with alternative universe stories. I particularly enjoy reading stories on The Petulant Poetess because they are so carefully reviewed before posting. Additionally their fan fiction software allows you to mark your read stories and bookmark stories!

So on to my resolution. I have dabbled writing a fan fiction story of my own. This year I vow to complete my own story. I've got an outline and the first draft is half-way completed. The exercise of writing will be good for me and hopefully I can give something worthwhile back to the community at Petulant Poetess!

Goodbye to 2008

And here begins my first blog. Last night I stayed up way too late creating a blog for my husband's Web site. He wanted a place where he could share his thoughts and ideas with clients and friends - his very own soap box. After I went to the trouble of creating a beautiful blog for him, he told me that there's no place for me on it. It's his and I can comment if I want to, but he has veto power. That got me to thinking that it's time for ME to have a place where I can share what's on my mind.

So here I am with my very own live journal - totally separate from my business and community life.
